Young Talents - Portuguese Shoes

I feel in love with this editorial at the moment I lay my eyes on it! The first impact was the beautiful soft and dreamy light/atmosphere. I didn't knew Portuguese photographer Frederico Martins's work, but after investigating his portfolio (his website / his Behance portfolio) I am definitively following his work from here forward. I love discovering new talents!

Happy Holidays

Happy Holidays!!

This Christmas card was made specially for you!
Instead of the traditional Christmas Greetings that everyone gets (Joy, Health, Peace, Love, etc - even if it is truly sincere it is still a cliché), I wish you a Happy Holidays, full of Happiness (What?!? It's the same that Joy? No way!), Warm ( ♪ 'Cause Baby It's Cold Outside ♫) and lots of Laughter!!
And don't eat to much candy hehehe

N.B. Why wish "Happy Holidays" instead of "Merry Christmas"?
In respect for other's people beliefs/religions that don't celebrate Christmas, that way, everbody is englobed in "Happy Holidays".

Kisses

Online mag "Tush" use color as key-word for the editorial "Two Much". Even though the focus is on the strong and bold colors, you can find a mix of textures (sequins, vinyl, leather, plastic and wool) with neutral clothing.

Identity

Editorial for the Art Issue of WestEast Magazine entitled "Identity".
Click on the photos for a bigger view.

” This is a chronicle progression of a woman. A woman who morphs from innocence to struggles, and back to innocence. From a state of purity, when there is no good and bad, to sophistication, which comes with seduction, greed, debauchery amongst all other evils that dominate the world. On the verge of decadence she struggles, for individuality, for virtue, for her own soul. In the end amidst all chaos, she unites with peace of mind, living with a sober fact that she is just one of them, and she can’t hide. That is her IDENTITY, whether she likes it or not.”

Nonsense in the Dark

I recently discovered stylists duo Kattaca and while going thru their portfolio I came across an editorial that I saw a couple months ago and was absolutely stunned by it. I was delighted to discover that it was styled by Kattaca. So I can now say that I'm a fan of their work.

You've just been Beetlejuice'd

I was looking at nitrolicious H&M Spring 2010 Collection Preview when I say this B&W striped waterfall jacket.

I immediately felt like i'd seen this jacket somewhere... Then, Beetlejuice's image pop into my head! I loved that movie!

Black and white stripes are a classic modern item that you can have in your closet and always be fashionable. But I do recognize that to wear the jacket above, you must be bold enough because you sure aren't gonna be invisible walking on the streets with it.

In Memoriam - Alexander McQueen

This week we lost a great fashion designer. Alexander McQueen was considerated not only a genius but also a visionnaire and his creativity will be missed.  He was one of the most inspiring and innovative designers the world has ever known.
I only referred to his public fashion persona because little is known about his private life as Lee McQueen.
He was one of my favorites fashion designers and his last collection was my favorite runway show/collection ever.
His vision already inspire a great number of persons and will continue to do so...

McQueen SS 2010 Ad Campaign

Alexander Mc Queen "Plato’s Atlantis" show was THE show of the season. It had everything - the multi-media approches (The show was streaming LIVE on their website, with two gigantic cameras on the runway), the always creative, vibrant and extravagant clothing, the shoes -that create an excitement all around the web, the alien-like makeup and hair and the finale with the premiere of Lady Gaga's Bad Romance song. Total Madness. I can always expect a good show from McQueen.
The SS 2010 advertising campaign was highly expected and didn't let me down.
Exotic reptilian skins was the central theme of the both the fashion show/collection and advertising.

Model Rachel Zimmermann is lying down - the common pose with many of the 2010 Spring-Summer ad campaigns, such as Georgia May Jagger for Versace, Monika "Jac" Jagaciak for Calvin Klein and Lara Stone for Louis Vuitton - with several snakes around and on top of her. I took me a while to distinguised the snakes from the digitally-printed leggings and top she was wearing. It has a rich, vibrant pattern that blend well in this sea of snakes.
Definitively one of my favorites campaigns for the Summer.

I saw the McQueen SS2010 show (via) and couldn't stop thinking that these shoes must be so atrocious to walk in... Well, fashion runway shows are all about provocation and originality.

Beside the shoes, McQueen keep his genius creativity with the hypnotic prints, cuts and draped fabrics. The atmosphere of the show (the video, the lights, the sounds/music, the makeup - alien-look-a-like) made the robotic runway even more surreal. The cherry on top of the ice cream was the premiere of Lady Gaga's new song "Bad Romance" ending the show. Definitively one of my favourites shows for Spring-Summer 2010...
